Thanks guys for a very moving episode. It was encouraging to hear someone else talk about how they walked the path of grief. In September of 2017 I lost my sister who battled cancer for over 2 1/2 years, then on November 1, 2017 my father died after suffering a massive stroke. I was there in the hospital with my father as he took his last breath, and it is something I will never forget. I have been there for families in similar situations as a pastor but now it's oh so different. I have searched high and low as I deal with my own grief for resources that talk about how we as clergy/pastors deal with our own grief and I am befuddled that I have found little to nothing. I think it would be great for you all to talk about this because I sometimes wonder if we in full or part-time ministry aren't our own worst enemies. We fail to allow ourselves to grieve properly and in the long run it impacts our ministry in ways we don't realize. Comments are closed.
