Every once in awhile we do a podcast that sticks out to Jeff and I as something unique and special. It gets moved into the "must listen" column and rolls around in our minds and hearts long after the recording is done.
Today's podcast goes into that category. On this episode, we talk with Nicole Bromley and Mary O'Brien from One Voice on the topic of sexual assault--specifically assault in the church. This is a difficult conversation but a vitally important one for pastors of all size churches. Children's Ministry is so important in churches, and creating safe spaces for kids is vital for pastors and church leaders. For some insights into kids ministry in your church, check out Episode 124, Episode 141, and Episode 212 with Greg Atkinson. This is a tough episode but a necessary one. We hope that you will be challenged to think differently and maybe even challenged to act on something you're sensing is happening in your own church. God bless you as you continue to work for His Kingdom in your small church. Jonny (and Jeff) Nicole Bromley BIO Nicole's Website and book offers...
Today we talk with John Finkelde, from GrowAHealthyChurch.com, in Perth Australia. John wrote a blog post recently on the topic of the new launch Hillsong Church in Perth. Some of the Hillsong leadership shared the post on Facebook and it went viral in the church world. So we asked him to come on the podcast and talk about what he wrote. This is a good and encouraging conversation that pastors will identify with, as we manage our own motivations around church plants in our communities, and sometimes in our own backyards! John is a coach and consultant for pastors and churches, and he does a lot of that over Skype, so you can connect with him no matter where in the world you are. His website is full of helpful content for pastors of all size churches. We know you will enjoy episode 218! Read the post about Hillsong Perth by John here. ![]()

I (Jonny) remember when I was a kid, my dad would come home from work, change his clothes, sit in his recliner, and turn on "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings." I didn't always understand all the news flashing on the screen in front of me, but I do remember that most of the time, the news wasn't good.
Most of my life was pretty sheltered, but for a half hour every weeknight, there was a window into the whole world of trouble, and I remember that even as a kid, that whole world of trouble made me feel afraid. Today, those memories seem quaint. It's no longer a half hour a day, five days a week. It's 24/7. Between cable news and social media, we're inundated with bad news CONSTANTLY, and even though we're not kids anymore we can be gripped with fear. Fear of the world around us. Fear of what will happen to us. Fear of the unknown. Often, the people we minister to today are gripped with fear. On today's podcast, we're joined by Ray Hollenbach who brings us a message of hope in fearful times. How can we as pastors be people marked by hope? How can we pass that hope along to others? Ray has great insight for pastors to navigate the waters of fear and be purveyors of hope. For more with Ray head back to Episode 201 and Episode 195 or head over to his website. Ray does coaching and seminars are we're confident that you would be encouraged by his presence in your life and the life of your church! As always, we'd love to hear from you ESPECIALLY if you're going to be at the Missio Alliance Awakening gathering in April! Until next week, Jonny (and Jeff) Check out Ray's book: Deeper Grace! Real talk: do you have someone you can really open up to? To confide in? To... confess to?
As pastors and church leaders, we all know that scripture teaches that we should confess our sins to someone, but in reality, how many of us are actually doing that as a practice in our lives? On today's podcast Dan Tarrant joins Jeff and talks about leadership, spiritual practices, and the importance of confession in his life. Dan is a friend of Jeff's college roommate and frequent podcast guest "Rob from Philly" and we are so excited to have him join us in this very important episode! In this episode we switch back and forth between talking to Dan Tarrant and with Rob Tarnoviski - as they share their perspective on bringing the first Roman Catholic Venue to the Willowcreek Global Leadership Summit. A Seinfeld-esque guitar bridge plays in between the clips... Enjoy! Check out Dan's website right here! To hear more from Rob (who makes an appearance on this episode), check out episode 137, episode 38, and episode 39! Rob and Dan's friendship has had a huge impact on Jeff and listening back to Rob's story will help you and your church moving forward. We'll see you next week! Pedro Alexandrino joins Jeff and Jonny for a great episode about faith, struggle, perseverance, planning, innovation, and love! Pedro was born and raised in Brazil, left his country for New Zealand and Australia for a number of years, and then returned to his "Motherland" to plant a church in Rio de Janeiro.
Pedro has been enjoying the 200churches Podcast for many months, and decided on a whim to email us and offer himself as a guest - and what a guest he was! He is so excited about life, ministry, and contributing encouragement to other small church pastors through episode 215! You can check out some links to Pedro's life and ministry below.
